Manager, Management Information Systems
Adrian holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, a Master of Science Degree in E-Business from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen and a Master of Science Degree in Strategic Information Technology Management from the University of Derby.
Adrian joined ICBL in May 1998 as Computer Operator/Network Administrator. He was subsequently promoted to Network Specialist before being appointed to his current post.
Mrs. Marcelle Best, B.Sc. (Hons), CGA
Senior Accountant
Marcelle is a graduate of University of the West Indies, a Chartered Accountant and holds the designation of Certified General Accountant (CGA). She sits on the Finance Committee of the CGA and is also member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados..
Marcelle was appointed Senior Accountant at ICBL in January 2010. Prior to this, she held the posts of Consultant, Group Accountant, Senior Accounting Officer and several other positions in the accounting field, in which she has worked for more than twenty-five years.
Marcelle is married and is the mother of three.
Ms. Yvette Branch, ACII, CI
Manager, Reinsurance
Yvette is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) UK and a Chartered Insurer. She has attended various local and overseas training courses and conferences, and received management training at the London Guildhall University (London Metropolitan University).
Yvette joined ICBL in 1981 as a Motor Underwriter, and then became a Property Underwriter. Prior to being appointed to her current post, she served as Assistant Manager in both the Motor and Property Departments before being promoted to Manager of the Personal Lines Department and then the Commercial Lines Department. Yvette is a part-time tutor with the Insurance Institute of Barbados.
Her interests include teaching, sea bathing and lawn tennis.
Mr. Hayden Downes, ARe
Manager, Commercial Lines
Mr. Hayden Downes has an Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (AICPCU), and holds the Certificate in General Management from the Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity (BIMAP).
Hayden joined Insurance Corporation of Barbados Limited on 1st April, 1980. Over the years he has held the posts of Senior Clerk and Acting Manager in the Reinsurance Department. He was appointed as Manager, Reinsurance Department on 1st July, 1993 and held that position until 2nd May, 2007 when he was appointed to his current post.
Hayden is a bodybuilding and boxing enthusiast, and has two children.
Mrs. Sharon Howell-Clarke, BA. Dip CII, MBA
Manager Life Division - Group Life, Health & Pensions
Sharon is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, majoring in Spanish, History and Politics. She holds the Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK and is a graduate of the University of Durham, UK where she obtained a Masters in Business Administration (MBA).
Sharon is the Manager in the Life Division, playing a leading role in the operational aspects of the department. She is also engaged in the provision of advisory services for the group life, health and pensions portfolios. She has over 25 years experience in insurance and risk assessment, of which 15 years have been spent developing products and administrative systems for life, health and pensions plans.
Sharon is married with one son and credits the Empire Club with having contributed to her overall development. Her interests are sport, specifically cricket, hockey and football, reading, travelling and cooking.
Mr. Rawle Knight, B.Sc., M.Sc., Cert. CII
Manager, Claims Department
Rawle is the holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics & Accounting from the University of the West Indies, Cave HIll Campus, a Certificate in Insuranece from the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK, and a Master of Science Degree in Risk Management from the University of Southampton, UK.
As the Manager of the Claims Department, he has direct responsibility for the adminstration of general insurance claims. He was previously employed as Risk Management Officer where his role encompassed the development of the Company’s risk management programme, including disaster recovery and emergency planning.
Rawle is married and is a father of three. His hobbies include tennis, football, cricket and basketball.
Mr. Joseph Marshall, CPCU, AIM
Manager, Personal Lines
Joseph holds the professional designation of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter, (CPCU) and an Associate in Management, (AIM). He joined Insurance Corporation of Barbados Limited in January 1983 and, during this tenure, has served in the Underwriting, Claims, Reinsurance and Information Systems departments.
Prior to his current post, he was the Manager of the Claims Department and served as Project Manager in the Management Information Systems Department during a computer software implementation project.
Joseph is married and is the father of three.
Ms. Monica Marshall, CMA, ACIS, FCA (B’dos), CFSA,CIA
Internal Auditor
Monica is a Certified Member of the Society of Management Accountants in Canada, and of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. She is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, holding the designations of Certified Financial Services Auditor and Certified Internal Auditor, as well as being a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados.
Monica began her career as a Trainee Accountant and rose to the level of Senior Accountant within a small audit firm, before joining the audit staff of one of the larger firms of Chartered Accountants. During her combined total of 11 years within these two audit firms she was in charge of a variety of audits at progressively increasing levels of responsibility. She subsequently held the posts of Senior Accounts Manager, Financial Controller and Management Accountant with other enterprises before joining Insurance Corporation of Barbados Limited as Internal Auditor in June 2005.
Monica is married, has two children and likes reading, scrabble and solving a variety of puzzles.
Mrs. Wanda Mayers, ACII, CI, MBA
Manager - Marketing, Communications & Research
Wanda is a graduate of the University of Durham, UK where she obtained a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) UK, and a Chartered Insurer. She has been employed in the insurance industry for more than twenty-six years, the majority of which she has worked at Insurance Corporation of Barbados Limited.
Wanda has gained valuable experience in the industry, having worked as Property Underwriter, Reinsurance Supervisor, Assistant Manager – Motor Department, Claims Manager and Manager of the Personal Lines Department, prior to the appointment to her current post. She is a part-time lecturer in Property Insurance at the Insurance Institute of Barbados (IIB).
Wanda is married with one daughter, and likes reading, cricket and traveling.
Mrs. Juliette Nicholls, B.Sc., ACCA
Senior Accountant
Juliette is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. She was employed as an Audit Senior at one of the leading audit firms for over five years. Prior to this, she was employed as a banker for approximately five years. She joined Insurance Corporation of Barbados Ltd as Senior Accountant in November 2007.
Juliette is married, and she likes spending time with family, reading and relaxing watching television.
